K700i - How to copy to / from it - newbie alert ! |
Mr Benn Joined: Dec 15, 2005 Posts: 9 PM |
Bought a usb cable to copy pics from the camera, and to download tunes etc to it.
However, I cant work out how to transmit to / from the phone. I have downloaded the pc suite disk that came with the phone, but cant see where I do this.
I have tried clicking on synchronisation, but nothing seems to happen ( have I duff cable here ?)
This sounds so simple that I cant even find any threads here on this , so go gentle with me. !

Are you using DCU-11 cable or other ?
I could connect with a T610 cable but , I had problem with PC Suite . Need to purchase XTNDConnect .
The SincStation for K700i SW didn´t install on Win2000 . ISScript problem (????)
Use DateImanager a free file manager for K700 .
If the USB icon is present on desktop then stop USB off/on the phone and try again . The K700 modem need to be installed and working .
I could download to PC but I have problem to upload files that was not recorded by the phone .
Anyone know if the problem is the cable or SW ? |

The best way of transfer files is via bluetooth. That's much better than the cable.

I have downloaded the Myphone explorer (full version) to my desktop.
I click on the link, but then get an error :
"The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete"
Any help please ? I have tried downloading it twice to no avail.
I am using AOL dial up but it does download okay. I am on Windows XP.
Thanks in advance for anybody who can help me. I have raised a post on the website the software comes from , but nobody seems to want to speak to me (he blubbed) |

Bluetooth will be a lot easier to use as u dont really need a high speed for the 41mb u have. One file at that size shud take less than half an hour anyway. I used BT with my k700i and never had a problem,in fact i've used BT with all my SE phones. And with xp u just put the dongle in a usb port,it auto ìnstalls, and ur away :-) Just a tip if yer lookin for the simple solution ;-)

Hi Guys.
Ive now installed the myphone explorer successfully.
However , I cant see any options to do the 2 main thisngs I want to do, which are to upload photos from phone to pc , and to download mp3 from pc to phone.
Should I be able to do this using this software ? All I can see is contacts, files, messages etc . Unfortunatley there doesnt seem to be any help options.
Thanks for any help offerered

@whiz, he's using K700i and I'm pretty sure bluetooth is much faster than cable with the K700i because it uses some kind of Serial emulation instead of a real USB. I even think using cable with K700i is just as fast as using IR.
You're probably thinking of K750, W800 or other newer phones.
resistance is futile. |

Can somebody pleases help me ?
Bought the phone several months ago , and Im getting nowhere with usings its facilities.
Ive bought a USB cable, and downloaded Myphone Explorer. However, all I see on Myphone is headings for contacts , calls files etc.
Firstly , how do I get Myphone to see my mobile? I can see settings for com1 etc , how do I know which port is which if thats the place ?
I want to download mp3 files to my phone , but cant see where / how I do this. Is there some sort of guide for beginners on this ? It doesnt look hard to do , but I cant get past step 1 !! |

I would use the software that comes with it on the cd (or from the internet). Btw you do have a memory card in dont you, cos most phones aren't too happy about file transfer without a memory card. If you are copying contacts the easiest way is to save them to the sim card. For music I just use Windows. Just attach the phone and browse through the folders until you find Removable disk/MSSEMC/Media files/audio, then just dump all the music into there (check the file type first though).
Easy way to tell if the wire is broken: plug the phone in and see if windows makes that noise that you get when you plug anything in (two beeps). If it does check that you have all the latest drivers for it.
