hi, does anyone know how to turn off the thing on the main screen, it is a series of links to phone messeges and gprs,
please help!!! |

you mean on the top? you cant turn that off. its not links, its letting you know you have a message - have gprs signal - phone signal etc.

Please explain a bit better. Could you post a picture of what you mean.
Is it always on the main screen or when you press the joystick in one direction?

Looked into this issue for a friend. I guess you are on Orange?
Orange place links on the desktop and cant be removed. Bloody annoying because you can't see who text you! My view is that you bought the phone with the facility to see who text or call you without having to open the file and Orange should sort it - but what do I know?
If anyone works out how to remove them let me know because we even sent it to be flashed but because the orange software suports this it made no difference!

i had this on my k50. its just a series of icons eg: messages, to the left of the walpaper and you press the up arrow and chose one of them. i just debranded it to firmware and it went away. you cant just flash a newer fw. you must debrand.
