I'm wanting to purchase a bluetooth earhphone/microphone/headset so I can talk while driving. Are there any I should look for, I'd like to buy one below £50.. so does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for your time. |

I used to have a Bluetrek G2. That looks awesome, was lightweight and had a terrific battery life. It worked flawlessly with my T610i. Voice control was amazing. Unfortunatly this isn't so with the my K750i. Most of the time when a call came through the headset wouldn't pick up from the phone etc... I threw it away and bought that ugly SE Akona HBH-608 headset.
This is the one without the extra mini-lcd panel and therefore the longest battery-life. It does its job. However voice control doesn't work very well (unlike the G2 T610 combination). I presume this is due to the incar noise that this headset doesn't filter that very well.
I also encountered problems with a TomTomGo 700 so I begin to believe that the above mentioned Akono headset is the only one working properly with this phone.
It doesn't break the bank though.

I have an older model - HBH-600, works OK, the voice dialing worked better with T630.
From what I've read here on the forum:
HBH-608 - good
HBH-610 - used to have problems, don't know if the new fw on phone has fixed issues.
HBH-662 - so far the best one
Also, you might want to know that 608 is Bluetooth 1.2 but 610 and 662 are Bluetooth 2.0 |

My advice would be to invest in a different phone with bluetooth that actually works as advertised. Quite simply the 750 does not.
Sorry about the unhelpful response; as you can perhaps imagine I am at my wits end with the 750 and its appalling bluetooth functionality. So I think the moral is don't be too surprised if any bluetooth headset or car kit fails to work as expected. It seems that the 750 uses BT 2.0 which is intended to be backward compatible with earlier BT versions, but in the case of the 750i clearly is not.
