Can't transfer AAC files to W550i using Disc2phone, iTunes not recocognising phone! |

I've just recieved my W550i today! Going to put a little review in the review section later with any luck.
One problem though, I can't seem to transfer any AAC files to the phone. Disc2phone won't even show them, it only shows the couple of MP3 files I have. And I can't find any options or anything that could show them, let alone transfer them to the phone. Would the DRM be doing this?
Also, is there a way of getting iTunes to recognise the phone as an MP3 player? It's not showing up as a player.
The phone is connected and installed correctly, I've just transferred an MP3 track sucessfully. I've tried copying one of my files to the phone using Windows explorer, it's copied to the phone OK as an 'M4P' file, and won't recognise it as a music file.
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong? Help!

just a quicky...
using Windows Explorer find the files you want to transfer
(for MP3's - you could try other audio files too)
Removable Disk:\MP3
Removable Disk:\MSSEMC\Media files\AUDIO
(for Video, MP4 3GP)
Removable Disk:\MSSEMC\Media files\VIDEO
as for ACC don't know sorry |

You have to use unprotected aac files: mp4 or m4a
If you have m4p files (with drm), you have to remove the protection (theres is software for that, just search)

I'll have a look for this software. Will it still be playable on my iPod after getting rid of the DRM?

Just tried converting the files using JHymm, and it still isn't recognising the files as valid ones. Many of the files I have have been ripped from CDs, and it says that these files don't need any DRM or anything removoing from them.
Starting to look like I might have to create a separate copy of my music files as MP3 files

IF you get your files from m4p to m4a or mp4, the w800 will read them, no need for mp3

Only the latest version of Disk2phone recognizes m4a/mp4 files, the older versions only supported mp3
