ok so when the coverage disappears i get the "SOS ONLY" message.
if i turn the phone off/on it will go back to "UK VODA" meaning their is a signal.

the thing is this the phone will return to voda on it's own but not as quickly as i would like, so i their a way to keep the phones attention on uk voda and stop it displaying the sos only message.

I've also experienced things like this. It seems like a bug, but I think it's ok after getting the latest software. In addition, you can select preferred networks by selecting "Net" in the communication menu

this happenes to all unlocked phones. The SOS bacically means that there is no network from ut operator so it transfers to another 1. the sos text will go off when ur operator signal is back.

I've had this problem as well. I posted it before but no one took much notice of it.

There must be a signal there but the phone just can't be arsed with it now and again! I find that a couple of 'New Search's do the trick to get it back. I'm still running R1B though, so as solem says - it could be fixed in the latest versions.

Ericsson has always had a little problems with networks...

I've also got that problem with my T39m.

It helps deactivate GPRS.
