My own K750i (from March 2005) has a Stand-by time of more than a week (with its original software). A friends K750i (from October 2005) has a Stand-By time of max 3 days when he isn't even used.
I read something of new software versions with an improved reception, but a more than 20% battery usage. Isn't it possible to create a stand-by time of more than a week on my friend's phone? If yes, how could I do this?
Tnx

make sure your settings in display are;

- 50% backlight

- no screensaver

- no sleep mode clock

also in connectivity;

- bluetooth power save on

that should help a little bit anyway! [addsig]

I have the latest official firmware (R1N035) on my K750. With a few short calls and about 3 ~ 4 hrs of Radio or MP3 each day my phone lasts about 4 days with an animated wallpaper, standby clock and brightness set to 60% (Bluetooth off). Signal strength is full where I work and at home sometimes it is one bar less. I fully charge the battery and wait till it drops below 10%.

BTW if your friend is using the USB cable to charge then ask him to use the normal charger and see whether that helps, cos USB cable wont charge the phone 100%.

The signal strength is another factor which affects the battery life; because when it is weak the phone is putting more power on maintaining the connection.

@opti the usb cabel is not for charging the fone, more for data transfer, next to it the charging feature is just a bonus. it just drives the batt crazy, so the "normal" charger is the best way to charge the fone.

The phone is always charged by the original charger (not by usb), brightness is set on 50%, bluetooth is off, he doesn't use a screensaver, but his stand-by clock is on.
The signal is at max level where my friend lives.
So I don't know what the reason could be...

I've just read something about an improved battery life in R1NA005 over R1N035. The software version in my friend's K750 is R1N035. Where could I find the R1NA005 with dutch menus?
Maybe when I flash to R1NA005 the battery lasting problems could be solved...

@ BobaFett
Yes, I know that the USB cable charging is sort of a bonus and not meant to be used as the primary charging method, but I have seen ppl using USB charges especially at software firms where computers are more accessible than some hidden power socket under your desk ... That is why I thought he might be using the USB cable a lot.

@raverke95
Anyways getting back to the problem; It might be a problem with the firmware as you suspect, but it also could be a fault in the battery as well, right?? You can try swapping batteries with your friend.... Just a thought.
