My first week with my w800.and some questions |

Hi, I passed the one week mark with my w800 and I can safely say that it has been a great overall experience. I just got some questions for you people.
1.- I decided to "upgrade" my P800 (heavy worked, some scratches. no pins on the keyboard, but fully functional), so I traded it along with an old T300 with two weeks of use and $220 bucks for a brand new w800...you think it was a good deal?
2.- I noticed it since the first day, but now Im ready to ask: The USB cable, the Charger and the Handsfree have each different number of "pins" on the connector. From Left to right that makes: a) USB cable= all pins and the fourth to last a lil bit up, b) Charger= Only The third to last and the last pins exist, c) Handsfree=All but the first and the three lasts are there. So far, Ive been using all of them on a regular basis and have no problems at all, I just want to be sure that those pins are like that.
3.- It's a shame the lack of OGG support. I used that format on my P800. Anyways, I used OGG's at 48kb bit rate, getting a 60 or so files into my 128Mb MS. Im pretty sure that the quality of those OGG's gave an MP3 at 112-128 KBps a run for their money. Now, after trying AAC and M4U on the w800 (I know, they're the same)...Im using the Disk2Phone app to convert my files to 64Kbps MP3's and getting better quality than AAC's at 64KBps....is this normal? Or my ears are just used to the low bitrate quality of the OGG's. Seriously, I did quality tests with a song converted direct from a CD (This Picture, Placebo). And the MP3 has a better sound quality than the AAC.
4.- On the P800, when you were using the stereo handsfree to listen music and a call appeared, the music stops and you could listen to the ringtone ON the handsfree, meanwhile the mobile just vibrates, so you answered and when the call ends, the music continues just where it stopped. Yesterday I noticed that with the w800, the music stops, but the ringtone came from the mobile, not on the earplugs, along with the vibration. Is not a great deal after all, but if you're on a quiet office, it can be kind of bothersome. Is ther a way to override this?
I got a Movistar branded w800 with R1N0A35 F/w (yes, I got the old F/W but I upgraded it, and Im yet to find a bug besides the MS one)
10X in advance

1. don't know, but if you're happy - I'm happy
2. pins are all correct for the cable ~ same on my K750i anyway...
3. I guess that each CODEC has it's good points and the quality of each can be tweeked to perffection... there will be one technical winner and that will be the one that compress the greatest whilst keeping as much of the original detail...
...but music is a personnal thing and it's what you like that matters...
...if only phones were big enough for valves
4. don't know, maybe a profile or profile setting will overcome that or setting to silent vibrate only.
128MB memory stick...
...thought they had 512MB!
good phone though |

10x for the responses.
I also forgot to mention something: try record a video of something in motion (a TV program, the movement of your waving hand, anything) and then go to the Multimedia Menu and select Videos, then play the video and select to watch it horizontal. See? The video "bumps" everytime the time counter changes (each second). This glitch dissapears if you watch the video vertical or in your PC.
Maybe a known problem, but...Im just new.

Hey Xboxed. Congrats on ur new phone. I'm using mine for ~1 week as well. Tell me plz, do u experience low-tonal noise (like if u turn on ur pc-speakers at full volume while not playing anything) while listening to media files in ur W800? And i've got nasty "clicks" when a track fades in/out. The whole crap started after i've upgraded to R1NA005 @ SEUS. This is true for built in speaker and whilst using handsfree as well... really dissappointing, coz it all was fine @ R1N035 which came on with the phone. I only wish this becomes fixed with the new firmware.

Nope mate...everything is just fine with the mp3 playback. I got the R1N0A35 f/w, so maybe its just that 08 glitched firmware.
You'll have to wait for a new one, I guess.
Peace
