Ok, let me explain my predicament...
basically I want the p990 when it comes out, but my contract with 3 ends in a month... I don't want to stay with them any longer (because they are probably the worst company ever), and in fact want to go back to orange. (A company with a good level of customer service!)
Now, the p990 wont be out for at least 2 months after that. So what do i do?
Option 1: Just go onto PAYG for 2 months, when the p990 comes out, get it on a deal with orange...(requires patience, and a pants phone for 2 months!)
Option 2: Get a decent phone on orange in the next 30 days, on the contract i want, when they p990 comes out, sell the phone i have, and use the money to buy it sim-free.... (If i get orange care here does anyone know if i can transfer it to my p990 when i get it??)
Basically, i'm weighing up the differences here...
Does anyone know of any amazing deals for a student on orange? Basically, if i can get a good enough phone for free, i shouldn't lose out too much.
I'm really looking to get around 400 anytime minutes, and around 100-200 texts...
Some help on what to get that will keep value would be much appreciated. I reckon if Orange had got the w900i in stock now, i would have gone for it...! (Looking to stay with an SE in this transition!)
So if anyone has any info on an amazing deal, or just some friendly advice,
It would be much appreciated!
Cheers, Daz.

well, the handset isn't on anybody's systems yet..and won't be until just after the actual launch...so you'll be waiting a good while..and when it does arrive you'll find it won't be on low teer tariffs...so you could buy it sim free when it launches...you'll pay less than you would do if you took it on a contract over the course of the year (standard 12 month)...or..you could simply wait until a month or two after it launches and get it on a lower tariff for free than when it launched..also remember that some first round handsets have firmware bugs so it may be beneficial to wait a while...whatever you decide to do...good luck. |

13 NON ORANGE BRANDED PHONES
13.1 Notwithstanding General Condition 1 of this policy should you change or upgrade your phone via any registered dealer with which Orange transacts business and your new phone is not an Orange branded phone you must:-

13.2 Insurance cover will then apply to that new phone. In the event of a claim you should follow the instructions in clause 14. Subject to your claim being accepted Orange will advise what action you should take to get your phone repaired or replaced. Every reasonable effort will be made to try and ensure that any replacement phone is of the same or similar specification however Orange cannot guarantee this.
