torn between w900i and samsung d600 |

I've had the good fortune to test both the d600 and w900i this week, shot video and photos on both...
the w900i is making better photos than even k750 did, and the samsung photos look absolutely awful... but...
the samsung's video is sharp as heck... as opposed to slightly improved w900i video. The thing is samsung's video gets blurry with any camera motion where w900i's 30 FPS stays equally clear with camera movement. Still, nothing beats the d600 video during a relatively stable shot of video.
the samsung is easier to hold and use, but the w900i turns heads and feels nicer. the samsung has a richer screen but the w900i has an easier to use interface... argh
totally torn, in love with both phones. leaning very slightly towards w900i at this point. |

Go for the W900i. Had a go of one yesterday and it was really good. You dont have to look much into this to see which is the better phone. As soon as I think Samsung, I think no. |

I like the look of the D600, looks sleek and compact. Personally I think D600 is a good phone with some cool features like the TV out etc.. But with support & accessories I guess SE is better than Samsung. |

I have been a SE fanatic for the past year or so.
I've had the V800, S700i & lastly K750i.
I ended up getting the Samsung D600 as i was waiting for the W900i to come out (which i thought was gonna happen in Jan '06) but to my surprise i find it came out recently!!
To be fair, the Samsung is a great fone with cool flash animated menu's, great video quality, cool tv-out feature (gimmicky i know!) and slick form factor.
The W900i is a fone i've been waiting for for ages but just cause we all love SE doesn't mean we have to bash fone's that are from other manufacturers. |

i still like both phones but i've decided to keep the w900i and sell the d600 to a friend. we both ended up with good phones. i gotta say the d600 video is better no question. |

The D600 is a fantastic phone, I had one for two hours...
... but the email client is crippled at 200k
"So what?" some may ask. Yes I agree until you realise that when you take a picture at high res you are offered the opportunity to send it as an email but the email client won't resize on the fly! So you have to come all the way out faff about and then re-attach it.
Not pretty... particularly as it's exactly the same story for MMS too. Unless they have since seen the error of their ways. |
