A Japanese company is making speciality lenses for cameraphones, wide angle, telephoto and macro. The lenses fix with a magnet and cost about £27.

Great idea, but I'd like to see a 10x telephoto.

hehe! Yeah, I use my 10x modified binocs (cut in half so it's only one - sort of a monocular) so that's what I'm used to
I'm actually looking at making a harness for it that will strap it to the phone. (too heavy for magnets)
But I'm not dissin' this product, it is indeed an excellent implementation...

I didn't think you were mate, I know you like to mess about a bit, doesn't supprise me at all that your doing something yourself !
Assume your going to modify your sexy phone case to allow for the new lens ?

very good question...not entirely sure but i can only guess that their may be a sticky back metal ring which may attach around the cameraphone lens to which then the lens magneticaly attaches.
Edit: Actually my guess was right....here is a picture of that metal ring attachment.

Cool product! I'd buy this if this is already available locally. I think they should make a variable zoom - like 0.5 to 4x - that would be better than carrying around different lenses.
resistance is futile. |

Cool, I was just thinking about a zoom adaptor for my K750. However this might not fit nicely with a K750 cos the opening for the camera lens is narrow

Actually I reckon some sort of combination of velcro and elastic and I can make a perfect harness.
The case, that's gonna be a toughy. I actually might be forced to look at another case style that can take the lense and harness without fowling the fit - perhaps one of those body gloves with clip off and flip down camera covers?

I've seen some cheap plastic ones on Ebay like that, no idea of the quality though, they apparently just stick onto the camera part of the phone - I can see them failing to stick after a couple of applications!
