I got a Sony Ericsson w800i last week and love it. I was trying to make SMS sending work with MyPhoneExplorer because currently, everything BUT that works. All other functionality is excellent and fast.. but whenever I try to send a txt message the connection dies on me. Anyway, I got a tip from someone who had the same problem and suggested I do a master reset of the phone via the phone's menu. I do that... and boom.. I can't turn the phone on anymore. It turns on but it's just stuck on displaying the Sony Ericsson logo on the screen along with the letters below it... the keypard's backlight is on.. and nothing goes. Can't turn it off, any button presses do nothing.. the only thing I can do is take the battery out to kill it. And as soon as I turn it back on, it's back in this state.

So I post back in that thread and I'm told I should try reinstalling the firmware. I go to Sony Ericsson's site to do that.. try the recovery mode which doesn't work out.. because it says I need to have used the updater service before for recovery mode to work.. (and I *DID* use it.. just last week, successfully).

So I try the regular update mode... and end up with this:

WTF? Does T-Mobile KNOW I'm using a phone that isn't from them? And even if so.. why do they care?

BTW, this is what the phone looks like.. it's stuck like this!!
