Pantech,has announced plans for the launch of two new models onto the Korean market: the IM-8600 5 mega-pixel camera phone and the IM-8700 F2F (‘face-to-face’) telephony handset. The IM-8600 is a rotating clamshell 5 mega-pixel camera phone with what Pantech claims is a revolutionary Meca Shutter camera technology which controls the amount of light used during the photographic process, enabling a far sharper,more defined quality of picture.

This Korean Cheabol is really doing good "inspired" innovation and other research. Infact, after taking the S700 (over 11 months) I was amazed to see that Moto, Kyocera had swevel phones. A big surprise AND a feeling of getting short changed came from another Pantech product. Forget model num, but it'd open (DUAL swevel) but in "T" form. Thanx to axxxr, I had almost forgotten bout these. (There had been online talk on tech sites about these & IMO Pantech site spoke of these as "to launch" or whatever )
