I know it's kinda old topic but i'm just wondering why when i take both pictures in VGA and Extended mode, The extended mode picture is a bit better to view on the phone. It has less noise and better color. But when i transfer the pictures to my PC. It's the same. The colors and the noise. Can someone tell me what's behind the software interpolation of the K700i? Does it have some kind of picture enhancer while enlarging it?

No it doesnt, but when you view the picture on the phone screen, the larger number of pixels compared to a normal VGA picture makes it look better because the physical size of the screen you look at are the same.

When you transfer the picture to the computer however, and view the picture full size, you will see that its not actually better quality than a normal VGA picture, its only bigger because of the interpolation.
Taking a normal VGA picture and resizing it in photoshop to the extended resolution, would give the same or even better quality because the photoshop resizing algorithms are better than the interpolation algorithms of the phone.

So to get the best possible picture for use outside the phone, the optical VGA resolution of the cam, is allways the best to use.

you can also use programs to remove the noise and improve pics. cant think of any but i know there are some around and are useful if you need a good pic.
