ok I have the k750 and never used it as a mp3 player,I just hear 1 time per month a mp3 using it.
I then saw that finally I could use it as a mp3 player for ski,but 2 questions are tormenting me:
-I never tried a true mp3 player like the Sony NW-E505 wish look terribly great ,so is the k750 player giving the same quality as a Sony NW-E505 or it far away?
-The price of a 512mb memory stick costs 60$ so for 100$ more you can get a real mp3 player from a high quality brand like sony,is it then more intelligent to invest 512mb on a memory stick or pay more and get a standalone mp3 player?

The quality of the MP3 player in K750 is quite good, especially if you get a 3.5mm audio adaptor and connect a good pair of earphones. There is a thread in this forum comparing the iPod and the K750; it seems to me that both are on par. If you are not an audiophile then I guess you won’t find much of a difference between a dedicated MP3 player and this.

However the most important advantage for me is that now I don’t have to carry around another separate device, which makes life a lot easy. And the battery life of the phone is fairly decent so you don’t have to worry about that either.

I had a flash based MP3 player before and I find the K750 to be as good as that and the radio reception is far better, so for me it was sort of an upgrade.

If you are still using the 64MB card that came with the phone then I don’t think you’ll regret getting a 512MB card, even if you decide not to use it as a MP3 player, because you still can use that space for photos / video clips or what ever stuff you usually put in to your phone. I even use it as a flash drive to carry my personal stuff, cos it is easy to transfer with friends via Bluetooth etc..

But then again if you buy a MP3 player with a hard drive you get lot more space, and you can even use it as a portable hard disk. I guess it all depends on your personal preference and how you intend to use it. If you are not going to use all that extra space of the hard drive based MP3 player for anything else, and if you are like me who don’t want to carry around 2/3 devices in your pocket then get a mem card. Its cheaper, smaller and easier.

i have a NWE walkman so i can tell you the sound quality is similar. the k750 might have a bit more noise when there isn't any sound playing, but i think it's a firmware problem which ccan be corrected.

the nice thing about the NWE is that the battery life is so very long. personally i stopped using it once i got the k750 and paired it with the hpm-70 headphones since i used to use the similar sony version for my mp3s.
rebirth.

The sony mp3 play definitly, but the best choice would be the w800i walkman phone.
