This is an issue of concern, which many of you might as well be facing at their offices. Yep, guessed right. At my work place also the authorities have made it mandatory not allow camera mobiles at the premises due to the stringent measures under information security policy! (the actual reason behind it is an open secret as we all know J)
But then, I learned from somewhere that it’s possible to find alternate back covers for our camera mobiles (as in my case, SE K508i) which would conceal the camera, shutter etc. in it. Does anybody have seen it or used it? If yes, then plz share the info such as place where u can find it, probable price etc. I’m from Ahmedabad. This I guess could come handy until I find a second hand plain vanilla handset for daytime office use. Thanks in advance…

And well, as of now, no such covers are available in india yet....can't say about other countries !!!

the main point is to evade the eyes of the security.thereafter,it's not all that difficult to get away...well,it all depends on the company and the environment... |

just put your phone on silent and the sound should go off if the fw supports it. then just be careful how you take pics.

yeah hi,here the issue is not of takin portraits in silent mode.it's about covering up the camera on the body by using an alternate cover which is supposedly available in some markets... |

if you have security cameras on you at all times it's difficult.
The way to go is to make a case back out of IR transparent material (such as the black plastic that covers ir sensors) that completely covers the camera fascia so that it looks like a normal plain back. You then have an IR LED soldered inplace of the original camera led.
What you have know is an IR sensitive camera that will be able to take pictures of objects that are illuminated by the IR LED. Because both are behind the black plastic (that is completely opaque to visible light) they can't be seen, but both the led and the camera are able to "see" straight through the plastic!
You can then take a photo of anything you want, as long as it can reflect ir light (most things can to some degree), and it will look like you are only sending a text or adding an appt to your calander!
(digital cameras are sensitive to ir light - see some pics here:
