K750 camera broke |

Hi,
Just yesterday my camera stopped working, when I open the back cover it goes into camera mode, then if I press the button half way down it does it's autofocus thing. But the when push the button all the way down, nothing happens. I've tried turning it off and on, removing the battery, even just did a master reset. None of which has help. Anyone got any other ideas?
I did do a search for this but the only stuff I could find was a different problem, or camera breaking after updating the firmware. I am on the lastest version, which I updated to weeks ago, without any problems. |

Try "self timer"...
...it may just knock the software/firmware back into action...
...although could also be hardware fault

Tried that but doesn't do anything as I need to press the button to start the timer and the button doesn't work properly. But thanks. |

it may need to get replaced! The only other things I can think to do is- hand over lens whilst taking pic - Try a program like 'My Photo' or 'Puzzel Slider' to take a pic to see he that will get the camera going. But fear is it's the button that's bust. |

sounds like a mechanical fault to me. take it to your nearest sony ericsson service centre or back to where you bought it to get it fixed or replaced under warranty!

Yes. It sounds like a camera-button is screw up, just like my joystick... |

I believe I do have the same problem as yours
I've checked my phone to an SE service center and they said the camera button is broken and needs to be changed. However, it's been 2 weeks and they still don't have the spare parts here so I can't really tell whether it is in fact the camera button but it does look like it.

Got a feeling it could be a lose conection as now it's started working some times. Maybe about 50/50, so I might live with it. As I'd have to send it off for repairs as there's no service centre round here and these no way I can live without my phone for 2 weeks.
But thanks all for your input.

I've been getting the same problem for the last week. The camera button sometimes lets me press it all the way before autofocus will kick in. Due to this I can't take a pick. At other times pressing half way will turn on the auto focus but pressing all the way just cancels the focus and doesn't take a pic.
I think the button is busted.

I've got the same exact problem, where I press the camera button and it focuses, then kicks itself out of focus without taking the photo. Sometimes, I'll be luck and it will take a shot, but its also "50/50"
I'm pretty sure its a hardware issue, and not a firmware issue (as with the others that have reported not being able to go into camera mode).
Does anyone have a fix? (I can't exactly send my phone back to SE because its out of warranty and its got W800i software loaded on it). |

Mine does exact the same and i have alreadydone a software reset.
I press the button half way down the autofocus does what it has to and then when i press further down the camera goes of and beeps again but doesn take a picture.
I have started now when the camera does this, take you fing of and give the button a a quik press and the camera autofous and takes the picture.

I've got the same problem with my D750, it has to be a fault with the switch. Bit of a bummer on a phone that's a month old

If any of your phones are under a years old they will be covered by manufacturers warranty and you can get it fixed free either from a SE service centre or via carphone warehouse. |

I got the same problems dude with my camera and joystick, I've found if you got to video and then to camera again it works ok which would lead me to believe it is a software problem. and as for the joystick that just keeps beeping when I move it but doesnt scroll. |
