Somehow I feel this has been posted before, but since I couldn't find it, here goes:
The HT Hermes:
Pretty much looks like the sucessor to the Wizard. Got a 416Mhz Processor, 64MB ROM, 128MB Ram, 2.1MP Camera, VGA Front camera, UMTS, GPRS, EDGE, QUADBAND, WiFi, Bluetooth etc. Got a 320x240 screen (STILL!!!) and Lastly (here's the deal breaker... ) they switched over from SD in Universal to miniSD in Wizard to microSD in Harmes (what were they thinking????).
So anyway whatdya guys think?

@debu - I thought it was the 'Hermes' brand of clothing/perfume Well anyway that's a nice gadget mate! Nice keypad too, easy to send SMS, like that of the Communicator series . . .

looks plain compared to the k-jam and yes, I don't understand the changes that HTC are making in regards to the different memory types

PocketPC Italia has some live pics of the Hermes from 3GSM world
(English translation)
For me, the only thing really missing on my k-jam is the 3G data speeds so I am well pleased to see the successory will now have this
can't wait

Actually I had posted the information back in November 2005, Back then it was widely recognised that it will have a 416 mhz intel processor. It was no till much recently (i.e feb 2006, 3GSM) that the actual specs of the device were released.
TBH, I'm kinda turned off by this device at the moment. Its specs are quite bland (in a manner of speaking). I'm really interested in finding out more about the Microsofts Orgami Project. Lets see how that turns out.

I'm liking this more and more for my k-jam replacement
it even has a scroll wheel!
Review : HTC Hermes alias T-Mobile MDA Vario II - meet the Nokia killer with TRUE WHEEL
I'll probably get the i-mate version which they are calling the JasJam. they seem to be stuck now on JasJar and Kam/K-JAM in the styles I like so it makes it easy for me

more from engadget
ok, so these are the t-mobile variants but they were able to compare side by side what I (and i-mate) call the k-jam and the jasjam
and here is one where you can clearly see the new scoll wheel
I'm not sure if its just the colour difference but the jasjam/hermes looks a little thicker... I hope its not

according to pics from cebit shown at windowsmobile.web-log.nl the hermes looks now to have extra keys for the windows key and the ok key.
thats great! they are there on the k-jam in keyboard open/landscape mode but when used in keyboard closed/portrait mode there is no access unless you slide the keyboard open slightly.

Im with you on that Masseur... This will be my k-Jam upgrade as well... Se have left their releases far too lon and will suffer for it. I was thinking of going to an M600 or W950, but they are about 4-5 months away. This will be my next handset now. I love my k-Jam so I will be some what obsessed with this one lol.
Oh my god! a wooden goat!. |
