My W800i is completely and uterly DEAD! i am so pissed off (understandably). I turned my phone off, then took the battery out this afternoon to retrieve my sim card to test something, and now it wont start up. i am at a total loss as to what to do. i've lost so many important numbers. any ideas?

(by the way mods im too pissed off to search)

some more info: when i try to switch it on the backlight comes on and then the screen goes dark, like its meant to but then it doesnt vibrate and ask for my pin, it just dies on me. I haven't updated the f/w recently but its the most recent f/w available (R1N035 i think) for the phone as its an Orange phone. The same happens when i plug in the charger

the testing i did was my sim in a different phone to check it was unlocked. nothing to do with the phone at all. ive got insurance so if the worst comes to the worst it will accidentally fall into a pint glass full of stella tomorrow

@slay - Yup, I guess your LAST recourse here is to have it replaced thru the insurance . . . Try inserting OTHER sim card/battery dude . . . [addsig]

@slay - I hope it's ONLY the battery that's causing the TROUBLE here matey Good Luck ! Just my opinion here dude, I NEVER upgrade the firmware of my fones from the T68i to the K750i . . . I will ONLY resort to that if DEEMED necessary, if the fone functions normally . . . I will just leave it at that. [addsig]

i upgraded the f/w about 2months ago so its not that. and there is nothing wrong with upgrading the f/w doesnt void the warranty, personally i think its something that more people should do as it sorts out irritating problems but thats just my opinion. ive always done it on every phone that i have had that i knew how to do it with, started with my moto V525 which i flashed to a moto v600 so it had better features, and have continued updating my phones ever since

@slay - So, since you own the fone, maybe there's something that YOU did you thought you DID not Say, like having dropped the fone etc. . . . [addsig]

i read somewhere that if you press the joystick up on w800 it takes u to the activity menu. On mine it takes me to ´more shortcuts, and i dont seem to find ´activity menu´ on the menu´s options. How can i access the activity menu on my w800?

@JN no i take great care of my phones, i pride myself on the fact that even after a year or so my phone looks like its just been taken out of the shop.

im more upset about all the vids/pics ive accumulated over the years on my phones. i've always transferred them from one to another

@slay - Basing it with your 1st post, I think it will be PRUDENT to bring your 'damaged' unit to the service center at once mate! The battery has no connection with the problem I guess. [addsig]

and a guy on howardforums has it too. After looking around everywhere the only answer is to take it to a service centre which i will be doing tommorow
