Hi ppl i have noticed that if you encode the song be it Mp3 or Mp4 properly and load it on to the phone it easily beats the iPod sound quality......
Any comments.

I have a colleague at work who is a bit of an audiophile.

After seeing my K750 he also got one and now uses that in preference to his ipod as he as the same opinion as you

I've never used an ipod so can't comment myself

also it does depend what quality you encode you music at, if my iPod has the EXACT same bitrate & song as my K750i I also prefer the music quality of the K750i UNTIL you go below 92kbp/s then the iPod keeps the track better wheras the K750i hisses like crazy! [addsig]

i ve got an ipod and a k750 and using aac on both same song same headphones and i wont be giving my ipod up yet.
the k750 is no slouch but the ipod tracks the sound better the bass stops and starts without lag as it should on the ipod, the ipod digs more out of track than the k750.
at lot of this comes down to the style of music you listen to. the k750 would get an 8.5/10 for sound but my ipod would get a 9/10.
though carrying 2 devices can be a problem for people so you only want one thing in your pocket you can do alot worse than the k750

Personally I favour neither my K750 nor my Ipod, but am just very satisified that the K750 is actually performing so well that its even compareable with the Ipod in soundquality

After buying the k750i, I've rarely used my ipod. I used to use it everyday before my purchase, but now its just sitting here on my desk gathering dust. I really love the 'mega bass' from the k750i.

Ive never used an ipod either. But the k750 sound quality surely rocks, as compared to that on other phones:-)

But the headfone amps given by both devices cannot be compared... try using the same headfones on both devicesa and ull notice that k750's volume cannot match that of the ipod.. though I believe ipods give a rather hard and thin bass compared to the k750's softer and thicker ones..

The SE phones give more bass indeed. More bass is not alwyas good, bass-sounds should also be good defined. The iPod gives very well pronounced bass.

Also the headphones make a huge difference. Those that come with the iPod are certainly not the best. Even the humble Fontopia-headphones from Sony are far better in any respect.

But let's not forget that both iPod and SE phones are by far the best one can get in sound quality.

Well I gotta say 60gb of storage with tons of tv shows, video clips, endcoded movies, downloaded iron chef episodes, etc plus thousands of songs.... is pretty damn nice on the new 60gb ipod.

What prevented me form using the k750 was the hassle with the headphones. Even w800/900i should have just built a jack right in even if it made them a little larger.

in terms of quality, not much of a difference. but i have to agree K750's problem is the low volume as compared to Ipod...

I'm using K750 music on my Logitech Z5300... just amazing! (Using HPM-70)
