I often read posts on here (and elsewhere) discussing the 500 contacts limit on many (all?) SE phones. I guess for most people (me included) 500 contacts is more than enough, but for business users who travel alot more than 500 would be very useful.
Is it technically possible for someone to program a Java app that switches in and
out various Contact sets from the main phone memory into Contact memory? Obviously you'd have to run the Java app everytime you wanted to do it, but hopefully not too frequently.
I think I've read that Java apps can (in more recent phones) access the Contacts list but do they have write/delete ability in order to copy a new Contact set into the Contacts memory?
If there's any technical SE programmer types reading I'd be curious to know. And if they feel like writing such a Java app, even better!
Cheers!
