questions about the sony w800 |

Hi I'm looking into geting the sony w800. I've owned a sony t610 and one thing I hated is that you couldnt put birthdays into the calender and have the phone remind you every year on its own. (like nokias) I had to move the reminder to the next year every time a birthday reminder came up. how does the w800 do it? also can you listen to mp3's with the loud speaker? can you use mp3's to wake up to like the fm radio? can you set the volume of the radio/mp3 to wake up to? (my nokia has fm radio to wake up to but its too loud and cant be adjusted)
thanx |

Sony don't make cellphones anymore.
The Phones w800 and t610 do not belong to Sony. |

well wasn't that a helpful little reply
----------
>>> you still can't as far as I am aware put birthdays into the calender and have the phone remind you every year on its own.
>>> yes you can you listen to mp3's with the loud speaker on.
>>> another yes here, you can you use mp3's to wake up to like the fm radio
>>> as far as I know its the ringing volume that determines the volume of the radio/mp3 that sounds on the alarm (but could be wrong
hope they help you mate

anyway back to your other question! 2gb card's are perfect with the W8 (or should I say SonyEricsson W800i - incase I get into trouble) eventually when 4gb card's arrive they should work as well! but again, 2gb card's are fine to use, and also will make an excellent size storage space for an mp3 player! who need's an iPod lol

nice one! hope you find this forum of use to you if you do get the phone to help you get used to it. after many years of using Nokia's myself it was quite a shock to use the menu style, but i so much prefer it over Nokia now I'm used to it!
Hope you choose the right decision to suit you best.

the questions just go on and on don't they thats a good thing though! best to make sure you ask everything before you spend your money, I know I do.
Sony Ericsson did not specify the number frames per second (fps) for video recordings but we suspect it's around 10 to 15 fps, based on some tests that have been carryed out.
If you can wait a couple of weeks then maybe the W900i is more suited, although slightly larger than its brother the W800i.
The W900i boasts several improved features over the W800i, including 3G, 470MB of onboard memory, 30fps video recording, larger screen, wired remote and dedicated 3D accelerator.

whereabouts are you from just so we know! maybe if we see a great deal in your country of residence we can let you know about it, also waiting till after Christmasis a good idea as January sales, the new W900i will be released on Vodafone by then all meaning the prices of K750i / W800i should fall a little bit more!

@groovemixer: If you want a good video recorder w900 is the way to go... And about the swivel... w900 has a button (automatic opening mechanism) to open it fast I belive.
Check this link for a small video of it. |

Regarding the birthday-function. I can’t place a birthday-note on my w800 like in Nokia. It is only possible to place a birthday-note for people in the contacts… I find the birthday-function better in Nokia-phones. |
