Data transfer to/from PC |

Hi there! I'm new here and I'm planning to buy a SE for myself (I love the way the SE phones look and I can't stand Nokia). Don't have a big budget, so I'm just looking at the lower-end models for now. I don't need a camera or mp3 player... i don't mind 4096 colors... definitely want polyphonic tones... but more than anything else, I need to be able to transfer info (like phone book and SMS msgs) from the phone to PC and vice versa. I thought T290i would be perfect but then, it only allows transfer from PC to phone. Which phone would you recommend that allows data transfer both ways?
Looking forward to your replies.
Sincerely,
AJ |

You could try the Sony Ericsson Compare phone features

although it doesn't look detailed enough to answer the question you possed...
...perhaps look under Organize - PIM Sync - this feature might be it!!!
Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones with PIM Sync:
W550i Z520i W800i K608i K600i V600i J300i D750i K750i Z800i
K300i K508i V800 S700i P910i K500i F500i K700i Z1010 T630
P900 Z600 T610 P800 T68i
also try floAt's Mobile Agent. This software may enable the features you need on the T290i (However - I don't know)
I need to be able to transfer info (like phone book and SMS msgs) from the phone to PC and vice versa

Probably not what you want to here (regarding price) but the K750i is good
Maybe a T610 (I liked that phone)...
hope there's a bit of help!

Welcome to Esato!
I can thoroughly recommend Z600 and K700i.
The former is only available now 2nd hand, the later has reduced in price to less than half it's original cost.
Do yourself a favour and get a Bluetooth compatible phone. It makes a huge difference regarding connectivity and accessories. Then grab yourself a Bluetooth Dongle, use the XP sp2 drivers and download MyPhoneExplorer. It's the best for PC synchronisation.
Glad to hear you've 'seen the light' and turned to

Cool! Thanx for all the info, guys. This forum is neat and I'm enjoying it. Got my girlfriend a J210i (she's not too tech savvy, so it doesn't matter anyways) although I'm still trying to figure out what to get myself.
T68i would've been perfect except for the fact that it's not available in stores over here in Bangalore, India. I can only get it second hand, and I'd rather not. Want a first-hand mobile of my own... mine, Mine, MINE , muahahaha (oops, did my meglomaniac alter ego slip out there for a sec?). I'm sure you get my drift
Anyways, nice talking to y'all. Take care & Ciao!!! |
