Hi guys.
It is with deep sorrow that i wish to inform u that my poor sweet k700 has been reduced to a BLINKING SCREEN! Spilled a bottle of hospital grade alcohol on it, opened it and cleaned it up as best as i could, but initially the phone got hung up at the "SEARCHING" level. Again opened and cleaned it, let it dry for an hour orso, got started!!!! Batt was low, so switched it off. Later on, on starting, it showed only a blinking, white screen, with discloration on the screen , and has been that way since. Took it to two different service centres at Chennai, India, both said- (SOB)" SORRY, DEAD MOTHERBOARD, NEEDS REPLACEMENT!" Any comments and help would be welcome

At least it was only a K700i. You can pick them up for less than £50 these days!

No, Its not that, It would be the crappy camera, screen, interface etc. that I'd be worried about.

That sucks By the way. If it happens again, immediately pull out the battery, and let the phone dry for at least one day.
Trying to run the phone when theres any moisture in will most likely burn it out. I once recovered an old nokia that I dunked in water that way. |

I agree. I've been trying hard to emulate SE's squeaky casing, sticking joystick, etc in my Nokia but i'm failing at it. Pity, i'd love to be able to understand all these whining posts about SE's recent build quality.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |

5140 doesn't have Bluetooth which I would miss terribly if my K700i were to pass away. Nor does it use a decent carkit.
