I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the FM Radio Transmitter MMR-60 for my w800i so I could play my favorite songs while inside the car, but was wondering how much its gonna cost when it comes out. But while rummaging through my old things in the storage room, I came across a cassette tape adaptor with the 3.5mm jack from my old sony discman which i bought way back in 1992. I tried it in my car and its still working, not only that but the music that came out was crisp, loud and clear(after cleaning the head with alcohol) hissing was very very very minimal, even more so if i turn on the dolby NR. You can probably buy this at any electronic store nowadays for a few quids. Hope this helps!! |

its funny, actually. I was clearing out my glove box at the weekend as it is so full of junk, including the CLA-12 cigarette lighter charger with the old style  connector but I also found a cassette adaptor like you describe! whats more its a Sony!
I've been using an FM transmitter for the last few years on my ipaqs and phones but yes, this thing still works.
In fact I have it, along with the CLA-12, lined up for future playtime if anyone is interested

Yeah!!! and it would probably hiss less than some fm radio transmitters and you have ur antenna at the back of your car. |

I've used one of those tape adapters too with my iPod, they do work surprisingly well, though mine did hiss a little, probably needs cleaning. I think mine's similar to Masseurs - a Sony too!

yea well that kinda sucks for me cause one I don't have a tape player in the car and two i don't have a car. But I am very interesting in the mmr-60. so if i ride around with friends or even at work being able to transmit to something a little louder than my speaker. |

Mine's also a Sony, but i think is a much older version, the CPA-6. Anyways, you'll get better performance (less hiss) by permanently setting the radio's volume medium to medium low and adjust the volume using the phones' volume control if you want to hear the music a little louder. |

yeah I have one of these (a non-sony), unused since I built an fm transmitter about 5 years ago (replaced with a belkin 3 years ago).

I got a Belkin Tuncast today. Im rather disappointed by the reception when used with my K750i though..

agree. It's not the greatest but I find in most circumstances it's adequate. In country areas without other stations around it's even better.
