I know that there is no direct way; and recording sounds option also doesn't allow you to record radio, I was wondering whether there is a workaround …

I very much doubt there will be a workaround that allows you to record internally but if you have a headset adaptor that gives you a 3.5mm socket I'm guessing that you could probably plug that into an external recorder and record the radio

I feared it might be the case… I intend to replace my flash MP3 player with the phone, but I’m going to miss the FM recording feature .. I used it to quickly grab a song aired on radio so I can later listen to it, get the lyrics and download the song ; or record news clips etc.. in that sense having an external recorder is not really an option. Cant carry another device with the phone, just to record stuff off the radio.

BTW since you mentioned about a 3.5mm adapter….. I was just wondering whether I’ll be able to make one myself by cutting a cheap OEM handsfree unit and connecting a compatible socket to the end (after the mic) ? I looked for an adapter but couldn’t find one locally; importing one from overseas is too costly for me.

Well, in these days I wouldn't worry so much about recording from the radio since quality is kinda poor and you probably download that song faster from the Web than the song duration!

optiplex, do a search of Esato, there are several threads dedicated to standard handsfree to 3.5mm mod

Yep, sorry ... I just saw a recent thread which has a link to a pretty good guide.

Actually I record so I can later listen to it and get the lyrics so I can search for the song title and download from the web, otherwise I’d have to write it down …
