With a T68i, if a mate of mine sells his & claims it was 'lost' & gets a new one, will the old one be traceable/blocked by the phone company or does unblocking the phone eliminate all the problems?

All strictly theoretical etc blah, blah, blah.....

U.K. networks now block IMEI, if he bought his phone or upgraded from a U.K. network then they will have a copy of the IMEI (it's usually written down on your application form).

IMEI numbers are now blocked on stolen phones (when reported) so it will not be allowed onto a U.K. network (or any foreign networks that share stolen IMEI numbers).

Only way to use a stolen phone is to have it erased and re-written with a new IMEI, but in future this may no longer be possible (about time).
