Well you can use any kind of camera,just that most people carry cameraphones so it only makes sense.

You need to wait for something to occur...if you happen to come across something newsworthy you take a picture...for example when the london blasts happened on 7/7 the first thing people did was to pull out there phones and start snapping,some of those pics fetched a lot of money.

I've heard about this, don't think too much of it tbh. It's not too likely that you'll be able to get something the BBC or anyone else will actually want to pay for, is it?

paper's such as the sun also advertise that they will buy cameraphone pics & stories off you and you can send them in via the website. not got a clue how much they pay mind and it does involve a large amount of luck in terms of being in the right/wrong place at the right time!

Thats very true a lot of it does involve a lot of luck but the easiest pictures to get would be of Celebs and all you really need to do is to hang around regular celebrity haunts such as restaurants and film premiers...most papers would easily buy celebrity pictures without hesitation.
