Try and insert another SIM card and see if the icon is still present on the screen. If not, then there is an unplayed voicemail. However, if the icon remains then there is something funny going on

You should be sure that you really don't have any voice mail in your mailbox, if you are sure that you don't have any of them (means delete them) because sometimes if you have too much voice mail in your voice mail box by not delete it after you had listened the icon may also appear. If there still a problem then you have close your mobile and open it then close it again and open it again (means two times). But you should try the to applied step by step ok
wish you a good luck

If there still an icon then you better contact don't do it by yourself anymore.

Your service provider is sending out the wrong signal to close the icon from the phone. This is highly noted in many coyntries; mostly for the fax icon, but sometimes for the voice icon as well. Turn off the feature by ringing your operator-ask them to turn on usuall message alert instead (you'll get regular sms-messages instead).

In order to get rid off the current voice icon you'll have to insert a new sim-card and turn on the phone; after that you can reinsert your old card again and the icon is closed. If you don't have another sim-card, try to borrow one.

The icon is not there because your inbox is full or any messages are not listened to-it's a technical problem and totaly related to your operator having programmed the icon notification wrong; they have simply not followed the standards from Ericsson. [addsig]

i have a number of solution suggestions:

1. put another sim in the phone, turn on phone, turn off phone, put old sim back in.

2. leave a new voice mail and delete it.

3. privmsg me your number and operator and ill see if i can get it removed ... i got a tool for it at work which connects to a nokia phone via cable and sends a sms which removes voice/fax/e-mail icons.... (can't remember what its called tho, but its freeware)

this is probaly a one time thing which occured because you didn't probaly recieve the sms which should have erased the icon from your voicemail system...

ok, I left another message for myself, and then made sure to check it from the cell. this time it had an sms message icon and a voice mail...so i deleted the sms (which i assume was just informing me that i had a voice mail?), and then called my voice mail box and deleted the message there. problem solved!

i appreciate the help, and i'll probably be calling at&t to tell them to just give me an sms when i have voice mail.

thanks again,
Mike

E-mail icon on problem.

THIS IS NOT A PHONE PROBLEM.
Call the NETWORK OPERATOR an complain about it. Ask him (her) to reset your E-mail settings.
