u can do it on your own, not sure if se service manage this for u. anyway, if u have no experiences at flshing fones, let it be done by an expert and rather pay for it, to avoid any bad experiences.

If you flash your k750i to w800i remember that you will void your warranty.

kamal825, I think i'll stick with the K750i firmware as i'm not 100% sure of the re flash to w800i is it just a case of choseing the w800i in the se update service instead of the k750???
I'm quite happy though but thanks for the info...

Cheers

i said it makes more sense to get the w800 becoz it has a better mp3 player and way more memory so it isnt the same as the k750 its slightly diffrent and slightly better

Actually underneath the housing they both have the same hardware, so basically they are the same phone with different firmware. The differences you see in W800 (better MP3 player etc.) are because of the firmware, and I think that is why DP-77 wants to update his K750; to have the features of W800 with the looks of K750.

And about having more bundled memory with the W800; well.... if you compare the prices, normally a W800 costs more than the combined value of a K750 and a separate 512MB card, so doesn’t make much sense in buying a W800 if you prefer the K750 look and don’t mind meddling with firmware.

I totally agree with Ess here. Though the W800i is a BIT more expensive than the K750i . . . [addsig]

The media player on the K750i need playlists to play anything. On the W800i on the other hand you can play for example a particular album or the songs from a specific artist without the need for a playlist. The sound quality is the same though, as the hardware under the covers are the same.

I flashed my K750i with W800i R1AA008 firmware. I like the better media player but miss the activity key. On the W800i this button is the WALKMAN button. I find this rather pointless as the function seems to be more or less identical to the music button on the left side of the phone.

Well just in case you do decide to flash your K750i with W800i firmware (to convert it) you can use this version of the Total MultiServer service (www.totalserver.net).

Here's a link to instructions I posted on a similar post:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=111785&start=20

A credit costs £8 (paid through PayPal or Credit/Debit card) and you can use your existing USB DCU-60 cable to debrand (no operator start-up screens and menu icons/shortcuts) and to do the firmware update. Essentially all your doing with this service is flashing your K750i with the W800i firmware.

Good luck.

If you choose DaVinci then you can find their step-by-step tutorial (with pictures!) here.
