It's suposed to be like that "Einstein"
the phones testing if the microphone works, by sending a sound wich goes from the speaker to the mic in a loop.
The sound means you got a mic |

Yes I beleive so, it is the feedback. It is also the same for mh T68. I don't think it is a problem.

I have experienced this also.
I have a T68, probably from the first batch that came to the market.
I get a really heavy feedback when I enter the mic test. I don't have to put my finger over the mic to get it.
I previously had a T39, and it did not do this. |

But how can there be "rundgång" when what you are doing when you put your finger on the microphone hole are that you prevent any sound at all to get to the microphone. If no sound gets to the microphone it should be quiet shouldn't it?

This can be very annoying when speaking very close to the phone (the R2A upgrade has made it better though)the other people cannot hear your voice at all they hear a fuzzy noise,so you have to speak about 3cm away from the phone. The mic is very sensitive which activates the handsfree without even using the magic word or a voice command!!!Anyone experiencing similar problems???

John is somewhat right. It is not feedback or loop. That strange noise is generated when the T68 is place very near any part of your body. It is like static noise generated in some audio receiver appliances when you touch some of its parts.
Got my T68 Nov last year and noticed that the called party can not understand my voice when I am in a noisy ambience like malls or roadsides. The noise becomes worst when you cover you mouth and phone mic with your palm to isolate surrounding influence or if you speak louder.
Took the unit to an Erix shop but they say they don't have means to repair the unit yet because it's newly released. They told me to apply for replacement but that will take days and I can't bear without my phone. Went to an Erix service partner which is also accredited Nokia service center, they told me they have repaired problems like it before but told me i have to shoulder repair charges because they have not received Erix SOPs on T68 and hence can't use my warranty. The chrge was minimal and I have it repaired. It's a lot improved compared to the original problem but not as clear as the other phones when in noisy surrounding. |
