A friend of mine has just bought a K750i on PAYG on O2 from the link, I have had mine on contract since it was launched so ran thru how the phone worked etc and how to save stuff on the memory card... it was at this point that I noticed that her K750 had been supplied with a ScanDisk card... no real difference in quality or capacity but I am sure that it is slightly cheaper... does this mean that some shops are swapping out the official Sony cards for cheaper ones? Has anyone else experienced this?

No.
Some SE phones come with Sandisk (not scandisk) cards.
I think P910i also have them... [addsig]

the only reason sandisk ones are cheaper than sony ones - well its in the name really isn't it!! No difference in quality, ive even heard people mention that the sandisk ones are better performers

Indeed they do.
And its no scam, some K750 comes with a sandisc card, some comes with sony cards. W800 to my knowledge all come with sandisc cards.

Yup.
Mine is Sony.
My friend got SanDisk.
At first, we thought the store had replaced the memory with SanDisk.
But, afterthat it seems that no "unappropriate conduct" had been done by the store.

The early K750i units all came with Sony cards but were all changed to SanDisk ones after a month or two.
Now they all just come with SanDisk.

mine too. Now I have a 256 mega though. It's a sony too.

My bro-in-law has a K750 with sony mem stick, but a sandisk duo adapter. The adapter tha came with mine is a sony. I guess it just depends what's in the box at the factory when they package them up?
