Hi ! I have used the ir port on my phone to send business card and printing. Can it be used to send sms ?

you cant send SMS but you can create a note and send it vi IR - serves the same purpose. |

no i know sending a note from an SE phone doesnt always work depending on the nokia model... but from nokia to something else will usually work i believe. but SE's notes format is different.

just curious, why would u want to send stuff back n fourth with IR? |

With the speed and range of the IR and line-of-sight restriction, an IR chat would probably be very impractical. Besides J2ME doesn't have anything that allows it to control IR AFAIK.
