i bought a usb2 multi card reader to use with my sony 1gb memory card for my k750i, i use xp pro but after connecting pc doesnt recognise the card in the reader, it does with other mem cards but the sony one, wha tcoud be wrong

I have exactly the same problem with a card reader I bought from ebay. It's an internal job (fits in a 3.5" bay) and reads all cards apart from pro duo's. My external lexar works fine with them, so I suspect the card reader has iffy firmware. No idea where to get an update though, as its a no name card reader.

the cheap card readers can be very ineffective at times. best to buy san disk or something brand name.

thanks your probably right,it was cheap off ebay £2.50 other media works in it though.

i bought a "DAZZLE" multiformat USB2.0 card reader from PC world, and i have to say its the most unreliable POS i've ever plugged into a USB port. half the time, its picked up as a usb 1 device, and sometimes it drops conenction halfway through a transfer, corrupting the card...

ive got one built into my laptop which also doesnt work with the sony pro duo. its really annoying
