Hi... I want to buy one of this (Dongle) that I'd mostly want to use to control the playing of movies from my kitchen (while using TV-out) to my bedroom (where the PC is)

Now, I think that there are 10 meters approx between them. To test if it worked I actually tried turning on an HBH-600 BT headset from my bedroom and leaving the phone in the kitchen (the place where I'd use it to play movies)... and it didn't get detected.

What I wonder is, if maybe (maybe) with a dongle I'll get higher range (I know that with Class-A I get as much as 100m, but don't know if the phone will get a little "more" than now) so I'll be able to use it from the kitchen.

Do you think that maybe, the BT dongle will work while the headset doesn't (maybe because the headset has less range / output power)?

THanks in advance.

you will always be limited by the range (and power) of the device which has the least range capability

the W800 white paper says... (please click the image)

so don't expect any more than that
