Hy everyone...
I m facing a problem...
I have 2 by me a nev phone but i just can make up my mind ...so ther is this k750i wich from all i'wd read is a great phone ... and the nokia 6680 smartphone.
It would be great if some one could tell me some of the things that i do not know about this phones .. because whit a litle help i hope i'l be abel 2 chose.
The thing is that i would love to have a smart phone with lots of apps but i won't be happy if this phone had a poor display, or poor sound quality, or no software stability.
So if u can tell me from real live experience(not just from reding from the nokia/SE phone specification site) about the next things it wil be great.
1.is the k750i display musch more clear then the 6680's ?and can one live with that or if u have a 6680 u will cry whenever u'l see a k750 turned on.(i would like 2 ask u if size does matter ... but only in this case)
2.is the nokia 6680 mp3 sound quality really low? or it's acceptable
(comparing to the k750 ii 6680 sound quality anal ?)
3.what about the batery life, comparing the both phones.
4.can i install java apps on k750i so that it could read WordDocuments or ExcelDocuments.
5.can the 6680 record voice unlimited time like the k750i can.
6.Is the 6680 an unstable phone?(i mean comparing it whit the k750)
7.Could u tell me the exact items that u find with the phones in their package when you buy it?(because i remeber they say that it depends from where u buy it, and i would't love to know that the guy who sold me the phone has now two 64MB memory cards for his phone)
The thing is that i can buy the 6680 just adding 35$ at the price of the k750i, + if i buy the 6680 i get a 3G option in my contract and the first 3 months 3,5 houers free video conference, 33MB free internet trafic, 33MMS. If i buy the k750i i don't get nothing.
So what would you choose ?(your opinion mathers 2 me)
It would mean a lot for me if u could waste some of u'r time and answer me because i belive we make our destiny .
10x a lot 2 u all |

Uhm, thats a tough one.
1. Displayquality on K750 is better, but 6680 display is bigger and not that much poorer. Not something you would cry about, but you can clearly see the difference in displayquality. Sometimes though bigger is better than displayquality, depends on what you are using the screen for.
2. No, mp3 quality is not really low on 6680, but lower than on K750
3. 6680 only gives approx half the batterytime of the K750
4. No, you cannot
5. cant remember
6. No, not especially, but every phone has its own bugs and instability problems.
7. K750 allways comes with a 64mb memorycard, a usb cable, a headset, cd with drivers/software and manual. Dunno about the 6680, never opened a new package, just had the phone for a limited period of time (3 weeks) for testing.
What should you choose then ?
Well, basically it all depends on how much you need the smartphone abilities. Personally I dont need it thus chose the nicer K750, but if you really need the smartphone abilities, then the 6680 is an ok alternative.

Ok ... 10x
and i hawe another question:
can one play mp3s in the background on k750/6680 ?
and the battery life in days , for a "average" user ?
and i would liike to know if one is satisfied by the pictures quality using the phone as an ocasional camera .

1.resolution of k750 is a bit higher but screen size of 6680 is bigger .so in k750's screen image is more crisp but on 6680's screen it is bigger.
2.sound quality is almost equal ,most people use headphones for listening to music so music quality mainly depends upon quality of headphones used. u can install additonal apps like oggplay and can use ogg files which offer same music quality at about 75% of mp3 file size.also with 3rd party apps u can increase bass treble etc.since 6680 is a smartphone it can run several apps at one time so u can simentaneouly play songs, browse web on 3g (broadband), edit documents etc.
3.6680 is smartphone so battery life is certainly less than k750.u will have to recharge 6680 it daily for normal use and 2-3 times a day if you are using it heavily i.e running several apps at same time.
4.no java apps can at present time open office files.
5.6680 is a smartphone so there are several apps available for unlimited voice recording ,voice recording during call, playing sounds of city traffic etc. in background as an excuse for not attending the call etc. .
6.6680 is more stable i think.
7.6680 comes with a 64mb dv rs mmc. it may vary with retailers.
the biggest stength of 6680 is smartphone , 3g , video calls, 220 mhz processor.
the strenght of k750 is autofocus 2mp camera.

Oh ...so i see.. it all comes down in finding out if i want a "smartphone" or a phone equiped with a better camera, sound sistem then the average phone.
I m not sure if i understand exactly what are the smartphone advantages(so pls corect me if i m rong):
- 3G (wich i belive it's not a smartphone caracteristic)
- and it has Symbian ....that means i can run a lot of applications.
But k750 hase java .... and there are a lot of java apps out there. The question is ... which are best java apps or symbian apps ?(i belive symbian appps are better because u can open MsWord documents).
If someone knows some more smartphones advantages please tell me .
And an other question that crosses my mind right now .... is the 6680 menu slow?..what about the k750i's menu ?
ok ...10x all for wasting some of u'r precious time 4 me |

What separates smartphones from java phones are the OS.
A smartphone has an OS to which developers can write applications, and addons like drivers to support stuff not standard supported, even minor changes to the OS, while a java phones has a fixed OS embedded in a firmware and can only run applications limited by the java posibilites and the lack of acces to the OS.
This means you can increase the functionality of a smartphone, while you cannot with a javaphone. For a smartphone you can write different mediaplayers, wordviewers, support for different files etc.
You cant do that on a javaphone, or atleast very limited.
The letdown is that a smartphone is also able to be infected by virus, while this is impossible on a javaphone. Usually a smartphone is also more instable because of the os structure, memoryleaks, poor written applications, add ons, drivers etc. just like windows. While once a javaphones firmware/OS has been optimized for initial bugs it will be very stable.
Funtionwise a smartphone will allways have the edge, but if one dont need the possibility of added functionality, you may be better off with a fixed stable well featured javaphone.
One is not allways better than the other.

a great point numb. i always believe when chosing a phone there is nt really a right or wrong answer
just buy the one that most closey suits your requirements. if you need fast data transfer then you need a 3g phone if you need flexiblity with your phone ie adding apps to help your job or interests then a smartphone will be more suitable.
but if you just need a phone to text call take pics and listen to music on the move then a non smartphone will meet your needs |

oh ...an another question that kills me. I v'd heard that phones made in one country are better the some made in other countrys(ex: nokia made in finland is better then nokia made in hungary).
Is it true or is just a rummer.
If is true then please tell me about sony-ericsson, wher is the best "made in" country.

@maxus - Better get the Nokia 6680 pal ! The 'only' advantage of the K750i I guess is the 2 MP cam and 262 screen resolution Battery life of the K750i is about 3 days, under normal use. I guess the issue about the 'origin' (where it was made) of th fone doesn't value that much as they have their own - 'quality control' to look over the final production in the assembly line . . . Good luck !

let say i decide to buy 6680 , but i do not need so much video conference .... so is ok to chose 6630 and not 6680...because i can buy 6630 paying 100euro less then for the 6680?
do 6630 and 6680 have the same symbian, sound quality and display resolution, and display size?
i'vd read that 6630's menue is muche slower then 6680's but the difference is not to very visible ...is that true ?

Yes. The 6630 is quite a good buy as it shares almost all the features of the 6680. There might be some difference in he internal memory tho...
