@ice - I am having the same fate like you when I wanted to transfer images from fone -> PC via BT, but this is just a matter of doing he right settings/configuration. My other recourse was that I sent images (mostly) via MMS to my email addy (Yahoo) and download the images to my PC from there, though this method will be a 'bit' pricey . . . Good Luck !

If your PC is giving that error message, it means that you need the bluetooth drivers for your dongle.
There might be 3 options for that.
1. Search the web for your branded dongle, and install the software/driver to your PC;
2. I'm assuming you dont have Win XP sp 2. Service pack 2 already has pre-installed drivers for most BT devices;
3. Ask your vendor for support.

The best file transfer software is MyPhoneExplorer
It works both ways.

Make your dongle discoverable. Theres an option for it.

If you're not using XP SP2, then install the drivers that Eastcoststar provided in the link above BEFORE you plug the thing into your PC. Btw that link works fine for me......?? |

I m using Win Xp SP2. Will the windows driver work fine. i have billionton software/driver installed in my pc. but if i remove i dont have a backup cos i lost the cd. i guess the blue and red icon is for windows which says device not found. but the blue and white icon in sys tray works from pc to cell but not the reverse way.
i dont have a back up software cd so shud i take risk of removing the software ????

Did you install the software before or after you install SP2? If after then you're not really using it. So remove them. Try this: right click your bluetooth icon, click 'receive a file' and then send your stuff or just use myphoneexplorer.

Once you use MPE you'll never use anything else for file transfers.
Believe me, it's that good!

Install the obex service then. Open up your bluetooth dongle option screen, right click your phone and install the service. I think thats how I did it.
