I went today to the RCS computer store in Madison Ave,NY.
They already post a pictures of P800 in cell phones department of the store.
I ask them about the release date and they told me the P800 is gonna be available in the next 2 weeks and the price is going to be available in few days.!!!
I hope all the info they gave to me is gonna be correct!

They did show off the P800 in the US, so I don't doubt it.

Great then it is coming to Europe the same time. The strange thing is that I mailed SE and they said it was delayed to Q4.

Just for your information, October and November both fall within Q4 ! not Q3.

Also, a French site has stated that the P800 will be delayed further to January 2003 as they have issues with the reliability of the software, which a lot of people have found out on the prototypes. It seems as though they haven't been able to sort it out in time!

Snilleblixt> Where is the credibility in this article? There is no formal source quoted in the blurb and if you go to SE/// there is no press release backing this. Also where did you get the line
"issues with the reliability of the software, which a lot of people have found out on the prototypes"
It sure isnt stated in the article.

Geoffryw,

Reading through numerous reviews of the prototype, including people that have tested the unit as stated in numerous postings on this forum, they have all said that the OS frequently crashed while testing the units. Clearly there has been or is a software issue on the pre-launch P800.

I have no idea where the French source comes from, but I wouldn't be surprised if P800 is delayed until Jan 2003 given the above, in addition to all SE offices not being able to confirm when the units are going to be released.

Unconfirmed reports have also indicated that production of the units will be shifted from one country to another. If that's true, it implies that the production hasn't even started!

At the end of the day, none of us know when the P800 will be released. We'll all have to wait for an official press release from SE.

As such, SE needs to get their act together....soon...before it's too late!

If the release does come soon, THAT will be a really big surprise. I've been hearing these stories about a 'very soon' release since July and I'm pretty tired of them by now. I just hope this P800 lives up to your fantasies, I, for one, have better and more useful ways of spending my money than buying new and expenisve toy just to feel cool. Oh, and, btw, pricey experimental gadgets like the P800 were never and will never be a hit.

Faca

Good to see you are keeping up your ratio: 95% of all your posts are just to slag off the P800, 5% on everything else.
It's amazing how much of your waking moments are devoted to talking about something you don't want

Q4 is just a few weeks away...
