w800i's volume keys are useful when I listen mp3 files.

but when I don't listen music, the volume keys show me the phone status.

Can I change it to ringtone volume key (when I don't use walkman.)

Nope, thats just what they're used for. When you are in a call, they are used for controlling the earphone / speakerphone volume, when the walkman (mp3) feature is in use, they control the volume. Otherwise they display the phone status.

The only way to modify your ringtone volume is through Settings > Sounds & Alerts > Ring Volume.

You can use the volume keys to 'silence' an incoming call without sending it to busy. With other words, if you get a phone call, but you don't want to just send it to voicemail (Busy) you can hit the volume keys and the ringer will stop ringing, but you'll still be able to pick up the call until it forwards to Voice Mail (which is typically after the equivalent of 4 rings). Useful if you forget to turn off the ringer in a movie theater or a meeting and you want to answer the phone but have to step out to do so - just hit the volume key and make your way out then answer the call
