Don't buy them, there's plenty of free ones out there. And especially don't buy shitty marketing pamphlets entitled:

What a waste indeed. There are hundreds of sites offering free ebooks, including http://gutenberg.org and http://manybooks.net If you're fortunate enough to own a Symbian phone get Mobipocket ebook reader from the Mobipocket site, free of charge, otherwise you'll have to make do with one of the (imo) inferior Java readers. If you prefer reading on your pc there's the Microsoft Reader... And the list goes on and on...
The most important tool you could use to find free ebooks is Google...
