Cannot install usb flash driver manually? |

I'm about to give up now. They tell me to point to the driver when windows says "found new hardware". Unfortunatelly when I plugged my phone in windows automatically installed a whole bunch of drivers for my phone. So I tried to install the flash driver manually but when I click on epiusb.inf file windows says it does not contain information about the driver I need. I did search the forum for an answer, and I've found someone with the same problem...just not the answer. Please help if you have any idea what I'm doing wrong. |

To install the update driver you need to turn your phone off, press and hold down c on your phone, now plug the cable into your phone.
You will be prompted to install the update driver now.
Make sure you are pressing c on your phone throughout this until windows prompts you to install the driver.

I'm about ready to give up as well none of this seems to work. I have tried it all but it always tells me that the file does not contain the correct information for windows. Pile of crap! |

Don't give up. Take it to your nearest Service Centre and have them update it for you? |

Maybe that was an overstatement. I have the disk at home, i'm at work and i'm trying to get the driver from the web. |

I have already given up. When the USB driver installation starts, there is a popup by Windows XP stating that this file that I am executing has not passed its standard. I then clicked on Continue Installation Anyway and the outcome is, Windows informed me that there was an error occured during installation and the driver just do not seemed to work.
This is really frustrating because when I downloaded the driver from SonyEricson.com it says that the driver is compatible for Windows XP. What a rip off!!!
Sony Ericson better test their software to maintain their credibility. Guess I just have to rely on people at the phone shop for now. Damn....

what are you downloading with ?? normal download ?? I use Download Accelerator Plus, and sometimes it downloads just some 43KB of a 4 MB file and says downlad finished. So when I try to open the file it says it does not contain any data. Perhaps that's the problem ??
