Earlier this year (April/May I think) I bought a Z800i off ebay because you cant get it in the UK. Well untill recently I havnt had a problem with it. but now the buttons are seeming to stick or not work on odd occasions.

Inside the battery cover there is a sticker from Sony Ericsson saying "Warranty valid until June 2006" "warrenty number: blah.. blah.. blah.." Anyway today I went into my local Carphone warehouse as they say they they do any warrenty repairs wherever you buy it.

The lady understood the problem but when I said I didnt buy it from there she demanded a recipt as proof I bought it and said the thing inside was useless. As I got it from ebay I didnt mention that and said I dont have one. Then she said "well take it down to Radio Shack they do mobile repairs there" .. and refused to do it. Obviously I dont want to use Radio Shack as there less qualified then the carphone warehouse repair people.

I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to get it repaired under warranty? Can I use an ebay recipt? Etc etc. Thanks in advance.

Call your local SE office...

The same happend to me, and I also had that sticker inside the cover and on the battery..

My local service shop wouln`t touch it as I had I bought in Asia...but after putting some pressure on the took it...

And replaced my phone with a spankin new one..

If you have bought a phone, and want to deliver it to someone else for repairs, usually they tell you they can`t because you didn`t buy it there, but thats bs...

They are not comitted to take the cost of the repaire, but they are obliged, as they are selling SE products, to send the phone to a proper workshop etc..

Most shops, just brush you aside if you haven`t bought the phone there. Much more convinient, and easier. But just stick to what the warranty, says, and of course a recipt also helps
