I emailed the company. I wonder how it works? can you use both numbers at the same time? like call waiting and stuff?

shawn, im pretty sure you have to turn off your phone before using the other number. receiving calls? it will show as line1 or line 2 depending on which one is active when you receive phone calls.

Keep an eye out for the new "GAIT" phones. May also be called multi network. Cingular has 3 phones out in the Carolinas right now, and I believe Indiana, which work on GSM and TDMA 850mhz and 1900Mhz. Don't know when going to be in Chicago. Or whether Chicago and other analog/TDMA markets will offer alternate line service. The sims and phones will support it, and so does the software, so maybe you'll get lucky. Don't know when the launch will be, but it is coming in within the next year.

@shawnmccall9 (sp??)

i emailed them a couple weeks ago and just recently recieved a reply. the results were not that good.

sounds like you have to have a minimum order of 100 to purchase these.

whats worse, whoever replied to my original email said something about sending her payment IN CASH thru the mail even tho i offered up front to pay by PayPal or by Wire.

sounds kinda sketchy to me. i was gonna write back and explain that i would only be needing one such SIM card (and possibly one more for my lil sistser) but i got so wierded out by the sketchiness and figured i'd let it go.

would love to hear what they told u about all this. please, if u would, keep me updated.

many thanks!
CMM.

Nah, I didn't look into it. Its not what I'm after. I want to have alternate line service so that I can use two numbers at the same time. There's no point to me of having to turn the phone on and off. Right now, my focus is on the provider and not the phone manufacturer. Providers (Vodafone, Cingular in the Carolinas, and Nextel) offer this sparsely
