Hi all,

Today morning i switched on my k700 and it starts off with a white screen followed by a 2 sec vibration and then the white screen keeps blinking forever. I tried everything to make it start but no luck
Anyone know what's the problem ?
It was working fine last night. I have never updated the phone's firmwire so it's not that problem is it ?.. i mean it's been working for 9 months and all of the sudden stops working! :S

I have warranty. Should i repair or replace it ?
Or better , is it possible to exchange this for a k750i ?
What do you think ?

It's the same when i charge.

Phone starts up with a blinking(1 sec delay) blank white screen.

Normally when the phone starts up it gives a small vibration first then a white screen then logo and loads the desktop.

Now it starts with a long vibration then a white screen which keeps blinking. That's it

Go to a service centre, buddy...

Replace it, then get a K750:)

Yea thats my only option. But i'm thinking whether they'll exchange this for a k750 because i have used this for 9 months. Now the k750 is the same price of my k700 when i bought it last year!

old post to drag up but wondering if any one has any more ideas as i now have the same problem, tried turning on and charging both times the screen just flashes white then off then on the off etc etc.

Also tried to do an online restore mode thing on SEUS but it won't let me as i have never used SEUS before with that phone.

Any idea what to do as not sure what the sony ericsson center would do as my phone is over 18 months old so i guess the warrenty/guarantee has run out, so i'll be charged. Luckly i have a k750i but the k700 is good for my free orange texts sim and now using my t610 for it is a nightmare as the phone is so slow it is almost unusable.

Maybe the phone is trying to tell you that you need an upgrade?

i doubt it would upgrade on SEUS, and even if it would work, it wouldn't actually upgarde as it is on O2 and did they ever eventually release an upgrade for the k700?

buckle247, wow i can't believe you to have the same problem!

So looks like it's some kind of bug in k700i that shuts itself down and present us with a blinking screen? WTF!

I got my flashing k700i replaced. They said it was a short-circuit caused by moisture?. Maybe because i use a transparent casing, that would have formed the moisture?. Anyways i'm lucky now that they gave me a brand new k700i but i can't rely on this anymore or any of the SE phones!. I'm thinking of getting the K750i. I hope it won't give any problems. If it does, then i'll switch to nokia!

buckle247, have you exposed your phone to mositure ?

hehe, not that i know off, was working fine at night, tried turning it on in morning and it wouldn't start. Which is a bit weird as just thought i never turn my phones off, so must have done that itself during the night.

Try taking the battery out for one minute or so, then put it back in and turn it on...

buckle247, funny that my phone also stopped working in the morning. I switch off my phone at nights. That day after playing The Incredibles game, all was fine when i switched off untill i switched back on in the morning..... it's GONE! CRAP!

Dan_Aykroyd, I'm sure anyone with this problem would have done that extensively. Even when i charge it's the same - no charging progress, just a blank white screen that blinks. Tried every possbile thing to get it work.

battery has spent a lot longer than a minute out of the phone, makes no difference, tried it with different sim cards and without a sim card as well.

OMG! I was just about to buy a k750 and now you say this!
All SE phones are meant to be broken or what ??!!

f_klo, hurry! replace it!! no questions!
They gave me a new one because they can't repair DUH!

I think i have to change my mind now. I'm going for a nokia this time. I have heard enough problems with SE phones!
