!!!!BASTARDS!!!!
Fell for a spoof a while ago, got emailed this morning by loads of users asking about an item for the tickets for superbowl:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]336294&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
So i have just got my account retrived, password changed, listings ended...i still have to pay fees, but could have been 10 x worse!!
so watch out guys, it DOES happen, be safe!!

Happened to me as well a year ago.
They changed my account details and password
Turned out it was someone in France that hacked mine

It seems like quite a common thing it happend to a friend of mine it was traced back to some 1 in america he tried to sell a bulk load of various mobiles |

i wouldn't call it hacked though.
It's called phishing, where people get you to give your details by social engineering.
Hacking is something totally different.

Phishing scams are still not known about by majority of population.

Of course he did.
NEVER WRITE YOUR USER/PASS AFTER CLICKING ON AN EMAIL's LINK!
Always write ebay address directly on the browser's address bar.
Plus, from time to time, check your windows "hosts" file, it might get hacked by spyware and redirect you to wrong places.
C:\%windows system folder%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Good advice there Krubach, I just opened my eBay account last week so I'm still a bit apprehensive about making purchases.

My brother tried to create an ebay account using my credit card the other day. He must think Im stupud if he never thought I would find out becasue I recieved a whole load of emails from ebay warning me about what had happened.
