thinking of buying a z520 or a nokia 6101 |

hello guys
i'm thinking of buying a clamshell phone.
I'm thinking of buying a z520 but then i saw a nokia 6101.
Reading from the reviews written on the net they seem to be both good in the midrange flip phones.
6101 has edge though. But I doubt that i'll be using it very often. dimensions are almost the same. But when it comes to talk time and standby time z520 is the winner.
Any comments and suggestions? |

Which one do you like best?
Are you using MMS, browsing etc? (EDGE would be good)
6101 UI is kind of slow. Havent tried Z520. |

in comparison with Nokia the Z520 has got:
same inner / outer displays
4 times more memory
no EDGE
no bulky antenna but loop antenna
same VGA camera
Bluetooth 2.0 protocol (with the latest APIs) to sync with anythink (PC, headsets, car handsfree, other mobiles, etc.)
same weight
light selectable effects
interchangeable covers
PNG alpha channel support (for semi transparent Caller IDs) and in general a way better handling of Caller ID.
More contacts available
Graphical UI and menu way better and advanced than the "only black characters" Nokia S40 implementation
not a Radio but plays playlists AAC+
3D Games API support
Almost 1 year difference in project.
No headset with the phone (I think the Nokia has, being a phone with a radio)
and last but not least: almost 40 EUR less than Nokia 6101 in Italy !
No comments needed, IMHO...

I would probably use some email but not web browsing and send some mms.
If I'd go for the talktime I'd probably choose the z520. But comparing the 2, I'm still thinking what's the bang for the buck phone or feature wise.
The memory of the 6101 is only 4mb.
Macco what do you mean a 1 year difference in project. What would be the advantage? |

with "1 year old" I'd mean that, apart from the clamshell shape, the fw of the 6101 has not undergone to consistent upgrade in the last time: it has the same "always black font" issue (that avoid you to use a dark theme), an even worse Caller ID function (the pic is so small that's pretty useless).
The Z520, on the other hand, has got the latest K750/W800 fw. Many thinks you coundn't do with a K700 just few months ago are now possibile with Z520 (BT games, BT file system nav, MP3 as SMS tones, Zooming pic, VideoDJ, etc.).
Try navigating the Z520 menu (my wife has just bought one) and a Nokia S40 (6101 like many others): there's no fight. hands down!
