im trying to get my computer to recognise my w800i to use SEUS.

I have installed the PC suite and rebooted.

I have installed the W800 drivers: W800_Signed_USB_Drivers.exe, and rebooted.

I hold C down and plug in the USB cable, nothing happens. No 'New Hardware Wizard' or anything. I never get a chance to install the Update Service Driver.

When i try SEUS, i get as far as the screen where it says 'ready to update, turn off phone wait 20 secs, hold c, plug in, etc...' but nothing happens

when i hold c and turn on, regardless of whether the cable is plugged in, just takes me to the start up menu. Is the phone supposed to do this? Also, the little phone appears in the tray with a green tick when the phone is connected, so im assuming the computer 'knows' about the phone

anyone else have this problem?

Press the "C" of the phone and not of your computer keyboard.

I had this EXACT same problem, and i was holding the 'C' on the phone too, so I don't think that this is the problem. When i held the 'C' and put in the USB cable it just turned the phone on.

I just gave up though.

Exact same problem last night.

Aparently it is to do with needing the "D750 k750 w800 USB Service Update Drivers" - but I cannot get it to detect the device from a "c" boot.

Instead of saying "found new hardware" - and alowing a "c" boot, to use the update usb drivers, it meerly pops "w800 mas storage" (i didnt have the Pro Duo in)

If someone has experiance of this problem, I would also be greatful of assistance.

Thanks

I think you were doing what I and many others were doing wrong before we realized it. You were pressing the "C" key of the computer keyboard instead of the "C" key of the phone.

Try it out, press the "C" key of your phone while connecting the USB cable

Hey, I'm having the exact same problem and I too am holding down the 'c' key on the phone and not my keyboard, I've only had this problem since updating to the latest firmware just over a week ago (you're probably thinking why do I need to install the driver if I've used the tool before, I uninstalled the SEUS update tool and driver, don't ask...)

I need to update the phone, its pretty useless as an mp3 player at the moment, the current firmware R1NA005 seems to have a bug that affects the loading of mp3 tracks onto the memory stick.

I've tried uninstalling the main drivers and suite and reinstalling which didnt help.

Any ideas guys?

I'm starting to pull my hair out here. I can only get as far as this screen everytime!

'The specified location does not contain information about your hardware'

Surley it does?

Sorry to Jack your thread but its the only similar one i could find to the problem im having!!

Right, i updated my k750i to w800 a few weeks back and it works fine, however. Now when i plug the USB cable into my PC and phone, nothing happens. I dont get the "New hardware detected" nor do i get "Sony Ericsson w800" pop up in the bubble...nothing!!

Ive installed the w800 USB drivers and still nothing, its not even showing up in the comp management > Device manager > USB section!! What am i doing wrong??

Cheers,

B

You have to download the Sony Ericsson D750/K750/W800 Update Service USB driver , connect the USB cable, turn off the phone, hold down "C" and connect it.
The pc should say some thing like "New hardeware fond: USB-flash"

Install software manualy. (use the file you just downloaded)

After that go to the update site and try again.
