Hi!

I've bought the SE Music Cable (MMC - 60).

But there is no auto detection if the cable is plugged in or not.
When i plug in my Headset, the proflies switches to "Headset" but nothing happens when i plug in the MMC - 60.

I want to use the Phone as MP3 Player in my Car. But switching the profile everytime i want to hear Music is a little bit circuitous.

Is there a way to switch profile automatically?

once you plug something into the mmc-60 it will activate the profile automatically, just like headsets do on the hpm-70 (but not when nothing is plugged in) .

But when i plug in de Music Cable the Phone doesn't change the profile. The cable works, but the phone doesn't switch profile.

so you plug the music in, in comes through the stereo, but your phone doesn't change profile? I'm not understanding the problem - as far as I can see it won't make any difference - whether the phone is on handsfree or normal, it should still play the music.

I just bought the mmc-60 and it doesn't prompt a profile change. Still works fine, though it means you can't use the music button, since it doesn't recognise a "headset" attached.

Plugging in the MMC-60 into the K750i doesn't induce any kind of a Profile change. It doesn't even show if you look in the 'Accessories' menu (it says that no accessory is connected to the phone).

If you're trying to connect it to your car and there is no music playing through your car speakers, it might have something to do with your car radio.

When I leave the house, I have the music playing on my phone, hop in the car, change the source on my car radio (to accept an outside source which is my phone), plug in the cable and I hear it through my car speakers. No profile change, I didn't even have to touch the buttons on the phone. Just plugged it in and done.

yes there is no need to change the profile at all (either automatically or manually). The music will play regardless the profile selected.

Yes if you make/receive a call, the music will stop. Also if you receive any kind of messaging (SMS, MMS, etc) the music will also stop. But if won't stop if you're sending messages.

is this mmc-60 has alternatives? or are these products only available in SE shops?

YES, there is an alternative and it costs cheaper than buying the mmc-60!

First, you must have an adapter like the one that comes with W800i package (hpm-70 adapter) or any 2.5mm stereo adapter (most have no built-in mic) like the one below.

Then, secure (2) mtrs. stereo cable or any length you want, (1) 2.5mm stereo connector and (2) RCA jacks (red & black).

Below is a sample of metal 2.5mm stereo connector.

Then, connect/solder the 2.5mm stereo connector and 2 RCA jacks to the stereo cable at both ends as illustrated hereunder.

If you do not want to make it by yourself, this stereo cable connector is always available in the market. But its fun if you can invent it by yourself!

Hope this would help you somehow.

good luck mate.

it's true it's cheaper to buy a 3.5mm adapter but the mmc-60 isn't very expensive anyway, and much better audio quality. Also, handmade cables are okay if you have good soldering skills, but if you are a beginner I wouldn't recommend making your own.

Besides, you can actually buy 3.5mm to rca cables ready made for cheaper than the components you'd need to buy to make your own so by the time you make your own cable and buy an adapter, you could have bought the mmc-60 and have change left over.

here in us, mmc-60 is quite expensive it costs more or less Php2,000.00 and in order to be sure that you're buying the original one is you must buy it only from SE authorized dealers which are very few and the stock is very limited too.

so you need to seek for a fair alternative like the one i presented. buying an adapter would only cost you at about Php600.00. then if you would decide to buy or make your own 2.5mm to rca cable that would cost at about Php200.00 so that you will have a good stereo cable (same as mmc-60!) at about Php800.00 only.

by that you'll have more than 50% savings rather than buying the mmc-60 and you'll surely get the same performance and sound quality!:)

it's a practical alternative in fact!:)
