Hi there. Im trying to flash my phone from current K750i to W800 R1n firmware. Im using Davinci 14.0, the latest. I have the right files for firmware. When I use Davinci to try read cable I get nothing though. I click on "Read CID/Test Cable" all I get in the status screen on the left is "Shortly Press Power Button" and thats it. Why is this? Anyone help?

Hey, go easy on the newbie. It's like you wait for these kinda threads to pop up to sound superior or something... I dont think you would do the same if you was at the self service tesco checkouts would you be ranting and raving about "put all your apples on at once"? The guy is new and if you dont want to help him, then at least sound nicer about the search thingy.

cheers

OK, first off Leviath, I did read all the manuals on the davinci site, so get back down off that horse matey. They are all for versions like 13.3 which are pretty different to the version I have, and NONE of them deal with the issue I have described. I also did a search but spent ages and found nothing other than, would you believe it, muppets like you telling newbies like me to use the search feature. Gimme a break. I only asked for help. Not a hard time.

As I mentioned in my previous post, nothing happens when I try to start the cable test. Phone is off, I hold the C button and plug in the cable. But the phone just powers itself up. Its a bit wierd as I have flashed the phone before on this PC, but it is possible that I have the cable in a different USB port on the same machine now. Is that likely to casue issues?

Finding something usefull with the search can be sometimes tricky. Imagine a newbie searching K750 and firmware. He will get at least 500 posts, talking from picture quality to bluetooth incompatibilities. Some of the topics will have something like 500+ replies to them, not necessarily with usefull information.

I like threads with the first post being updated with usefull nformation from the thread, but I had to follow a while to be able to discover the interresting ones.

You know I would be willing to help further but unfortunatly 'stepping down from the horse' I was never insulting to you in a name calling manner...

I would say you have the cable drivers not/incorrectly installed, but your attitude, made me think: I won't tell you nothing!

No attitude here. I just dont appreciate unhelpful comments like being told "why didnt you read the manuals" or "use the search". Thats treating me like an idiot. I dont appreciate it. I simply asked for help, if you arent willing to help, then fair enough.

Ok after you click on the read cid test cable button. When your asked to power off the phone just disconnect the phone from the usb, turn phone off, wait till it powers off completely, then hold the c button as you re-attach the usb cable back to the phone while it's still switched off.

You still think thats the case even though I flashed the phone on the same PC a few months ago and havent changed anything except the USB port (I have 12 ports, cant remember which one it was in!!)
