My friends
I am writing you because of a problem I am facing with my phone (K700i) and the local service department.
I had a problem with my phone. When I was trying to go into camera's menu the phone was push me out of it. I couldn't use the camera but it was not a big problem for me since I didn't use very often my phone as a camera.
I went to my city's service center (my city is THIVA-GREECE) and they told me that the only thing my phone needs is an upgrade. I left my phone there but when I went to take it back they told me that the upgrade was not successful and they had to send the phone to the central service center in Athens. I gave them my phone in about 20th of August. Since then, I was going to them every week but the phone was not back from the service.
At the middle of October (2 months after I gave my phone!) I sent an e-mail to the service center in Athens asking them to inform me about. They answered me the next day and they told me that they would look for my phone and they would tell me what was going on.
Two days later they told me that my phone was there, they checked it and the phone has multiple damages, so the cost for the repair was 117€+taxes+travel cost etc. I told them that it was to high for repair (higher than the value of the phone itself) and I asked them details for the damages. After 2 days they told me that a chip needs replacement and it needs also upgrade and since there are above one damages the cost is standard. I told them that the upgrade is not a damage and I also asked them what's the cost for the chip replacement only.
They told me that they cannot fix only the chip damage since they have to give a warranty (3 months).
I refused to pay the whole amount of money and I asked them to do nothing with my phone. They sent the phone back to me. I paid 22€ in order to have it back (travel cost + check cost).
When I tried to put my SIM card into the phone and try to operate it again I realised that the phone was not the same. I could see only a tottaly white screen! Nothing else. The phone sounds like it's working but I see nothing on the screen.
I sent them an e-mail telling them about the problem last week but I have no reply yet.
I know that the cost of the phone is not high now since it's not brand new but the fact is that I am almost 3 months without a phone and the phone is not in the same condition as it was when I sent it for upgrade.
Any advices about what I should do?
I tried to send an e-mail to SONY ERICSSON abroad but I am not sure that the message will be sent to the mother company.
