W800i or W550i? Help needed in choice please! |

Hi all,
I currently have a K750i on one line but another contract is up for upgrade.I was offered a W800i (my other half would have the 750) but was recently told they were out of stock for approx 1 - 2 weeks & i could wait or choose a different handset like the w550i.
What should i do?I love the 750 so the 800 was the obvious choice until now!How do the two compare with menu options/layout etc.
Any advice would be appreciated. |

i would go for w800i, never liked the s7 design:

but first, i would give a try to both of them to make the right decision.

Thanks for the reply Bobafett.
The W800i should.nt need a test run as it is pretty much the same as the K750i with more memory & flight mode.
Am i correct in thinking that the W550i is stuck with 256mb?
The camera (1.3m) isnt a problem as i have a decent digital camera anyway, but is the software upto K750i standards? |

on the official se site is 256mb written, so i guess, thst the max. think its a kind of little brother of w800i, thatswhy the less memory.

but why the mem limitation? 256mb isnt that much in a music focused mob fone imo

First, i had a t200, then a t610, and the obvious upgrade...k700i. But then, i got bored so quickly of my k700 and its similar form with the t610. So i got an s700i and im very happy with it. My advice is to get a swivel because u will easily get bored after the k750 if u get the w800 wich is very similar formwise... W550 is for u... Walkman, and new form

mostly cosmetic changes..
For example: You can see which messages you have replied to and forwarded and you can change the menu layout |

Your replies have been very helpful but im stuck between style & memory capacity for the music etc.
Still,i have a week or so to get me head round it. |

for more mem go for w800i then. u could also give a try so long for s7, if that mechanism really fits your needs and handy at usage.

230 MB to be exact... 26 MB already taken for system files and such. Currently I have no problem with the amount of memory it has. Sure I can only fill it up, like... 30-35 songs max (I need extra memory for camera pics and other things), but all of those songs are guaranteed to be listened by me, so no loss of memory space there.
I also wish for bigger memory, 512 MB would kill all music oriented mobile phones. But it will make the W550i price reach the US$400 barrier (in my country, 400 bucks is the emotional barrier for tech stuff, below that people are spending like mad dog, after that... Well, people tends to expect too much)... And SE targets this phone to mainstream users who are (usually) only willing to spend around US$250-350 for a mobile phone with additional features. |
